week one has already come and gone.
still learning how to use this vineblog thing.
it reminds me of year 9 and 10 drama with those drama journals we had to write every week… that was the reason why i dropped drama second semester.
oh my gosh. year 9 drama seems like its was only the other day when we performed our clown circus act to the preps in chapel… and now we are in year 12 theatre studies…
how scary.
this week has been quite enjoyable. I’m very excited about this year with theatre especially with this unit 3 play ‘100′. i liked this play at the very beginning from orientation day and now i like it even more after reading it in class with everyone.
It has heaps of potential and just listening to some students reading out the parts i could visualize it on stage. Burak, i think is made for Ketu  and Gemma read Sophie extremely well. And for Lisa, well I believe she can play any part she wants and the guide is just for her. I know Teigan will do an awesome job at make up.. and in fact everyone in our theatre class is going to do there role perfectly.                                                        the hardest thing for me this week … and i think i can speak for bethany as well, was trying to follow on while the class was reading 100. the way it was photocopied or something was just to confusing for me. but finally on the last couple of pages, i caught on haahaahha.
Im extremely overly excited about doing set design and being able to create a model box thingie with Jarrod. And for acting as Nia I’m pretty much excited as well as being tad nervous at the same time .. but more excited! i get to say “shag”!! wooo lol
Ive used the word excited a lot so far …
Overall i think this performance is going to go off! Like everything else related to theatre studies.
So far we worked out a budget for 100. I think that everything, hopefully, will run smoothly. We started on working out dates for everything this semester like Macbeth, top acts, camp, fame and 100. i’m a little worried about these dates, i think there are going fly and by the time we know it its going to be opening night for fame, which means 2 weeks before 100. :O
Sometime this week, i think it was Friday, Jarrod and myself sat in cooper’s office to talk about “100″ ….. and other stuff. We talked about the set design for it and about the play in general. I have a few ideas for the set of 100 and how to change this set for the void and for the characters memories. I’m happy I’m working with Jarrod after working with him for costumes for Macbeth.
Another thing i enjoyed this week, for the first time this year we played the ‘mole.’ it has to be one of my favorite games in theatre as well has doing that game when we say our name while standing in a circle doing an action that we all have to copy. This caused a few giggles. i like giggles.
So yep. That’s basically week one of theatre. I don’t know what else to write…
but…….
theatre studies is the best subject in the world the best subject is theatre studies is the best subject in the world the best subject is theatre studies and so forth etc etc.Â
lol to josh .. he will find this funny.Â

Hi Tash,
February 12, 2007 @ 10:27 pmThanks for your detailed Blog. To answer your final question first… You are not being marked on this Blog, but once you get to have a look at Acting Smart, you will see that part of the production process of Outcome One relates to journalling your thoughts. You shouldn’t see this task as the journals you wrote in Yr 9 & 10.
Instead, I hope you will find them useful for tracking your ideas and development and that they will contribute greatly to Outcome 2 of Unit
3 and to preparing your monologue in Unit 4.
I agree with you how time already seems to be flying by. We do have a lot to get through and so much to achieve, but I’d also agree that
we have an awesome class and I too am very EXCITED about what’s ahead of us.
I appreciate your thoughts on the production roles you have undertaken. If you include some of the design ideas you have for example, you will find it a lot easier to put your folio together when the time comes.
I too think that the casting will work very well. There is lots of potential with everyone in Theatre this year, to create something very special…that will “go off” as you put it.
Good blogging and looking forward to a happy Week 2.
tashy ur awesome and dark skinned! :O
February 12, 2007 @ 10:33 pmHey tasha i really like ur blog. I think that we should both do indervidual set designs and then collaberate for the final result.
I will help you of course, just ask me and that way we can do a great job.
